North Star House Today

Welcome to North Star House and the Connecticut River Scenic Byway.

Located on 700 acres, the house reflects our 2011 top-to-bottom restoration of this 1855 historic home. Period features were retained—slate roof, antique hardware, wavy glass windows, hand-carved millwork—while modern conveniences have been added for your comfort, including a gourmet kitchen, marble-tiled baths, and a glass-fronted wood stove.

The house maintains the traditional farmhouse first-floor front and rear parlors: the rear parlor featuring a large south-facing bay window and wood stove and the front parlor graced with a queen-sized sofabed. Also on the first floor are the dining room with French door access to a south-facing patio, the large, sunny, eat-in kitchen, screened porch with views of the Connecticut River and Mount Ascutney, full bath, indoor storage area for skis and kayaks, and a two-car garage.

Upstairs, North Star House features a master bedroom with views of the fields and river, three smaller bedrooms, and two additional full baths.

The house complies with modern energy codes, being fully insulated to keep the place warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
